OLE, USA connects with RIVER

Dr Joseph Rappa, Chief Education Officer, Open Learning Exchange Inc., Cambridge, Massachusetts visited RIVER on February 17, 2009. He stayed with us for a few days and was exposed to the whole gambit of RIVER activities. He showed a very enthusiastic interest in the MGML Methodology and opined that it could be replicated in some other countries. Padmanabha and Rama Rao have had extensive discussions with Joe Rappa in taking this methodology further to areas of common interest of OLE and RIVER. Rappa’s interest in children was very evident as he interacted with children from our satellite schools. He also witnessed the community interaction with RIVER at a function hosted in his honor at one of our school villages.

Teachers create own Materials

40% of the materials are to be created by the Teachers themselves. Thus there is this feeling of ownership in the MGML Methodology which is necessary. It gives freedom to the Teacher to be as creative as possible within the constraints of resources available. (Click on Play button to view video)
